On the other hand, Interior Minister, who also spoke about a new project that has been continuing its work in recent weeks, said;

“Again, with the instructions of our President, Inshallah, God willing, the most secure domestic and national passport transactions in the world have been started to be produced. In other words, in the next 3-4 months, we are taking a step that we have been working on for a long time together with the Ministry of Finance and Treasury with the Mint that we will not need others and will not squeeze us into an area with security and chips, Inshallah. If we can, we will hopefully use color images on our IDs, but also on passports.

At the same time, we have also shown a very good work with the Mint on expired driver’s licenses for 2023, and we will introduce a new process in which we can upload IDs to driver’s licenses, where there may be different information. We said we could do three things and we would try. The first is to upload driver’s licenses to IDs, we have completed this. Uploading the second e-signature to the IDs. The third is a somewhat ambitious business. A payment system via credit cards can be developed on (e-kimlik) Turkish national identity cards. There are exemplary countries in the world that do this. A serious infrastructure study in Turkey is being carried out on this issue”
