THE GUARDIAN WROTE IT ‘THE ISTANBUL POLICE HAVE TAKEN ACTION

Istanbul police have launched an operation after The Guardian Newspaper, based in the UK, alleged that an international smuggling network smuggled ISIS members to Europe and America via Istanbul. the operation, in which 4 foreign ISIS members were captured, was seized with large number of stolen passports and IDs. The police in Turkey, who managed to infiltrate the multi-messaging application called “Telegram”, found that the smuggling was carried out through 2 companies that legally offer visa support services to foreigners.

On January 31 2022, the Guardian Newspaper published a report, which contained information for people, including some ISIS members, had been smuggled to Europe and America with fake passports and visas. The news contained information that the people who organized the organization smuggled members of the organization who illegally crossed into Turkey from Syria to Europe and America, while the information that the people who organized the organization were an Uzbek network was included.

It was also stated that the network prepared, sent some people to Mexico with fake Russian passports, and the information that the people going to Mexico were heading to the US border was included in the news that the people doing fake passport business opened a group called “Istanbul Global Consulting” via Telegram.

POLICE TEAMS INFILTRATED 2 GROUPS ON TELEGRAM

The Istanbul Anti-Migrant Trafficking and Border Gates Branch Directorate teams, which took action with the news of reporters citing US Department of Interior sources, have started working on the allegations.

The police teams first infiltrated 2 groups published via Telegram. It was determined that the suspect who made the transaction was not of Uzbek origin, but of Turkmenistan. Police teams have identified 2 addresses in Istanbul that do visa counseling for foreigners from the group’s interviews and raided the addresses. In the studies in which 4 network members were identified, Turkmen BMM and DŞ were used in the raids on the addresses in Şirinevler and Esenyurt., MKM of Egyptian nationality. and his wife FCN was detained. However, FCN while it was learned that was not taken to the police because she was pregnant, 8 Turkish Passports, 11 Turkmenistan Passports, 36 residence permit documents issued on behalf of different nationals, numerous color visa photocopies obtained for application to passports by forgery, were seized at the address of the suspects who were detained.

It was learned that 8 of the passports seized by the police teams were Turkish passports and had a stolen application in their rights. It was stated that the passports belonging to foreigners did not have entry and exit records to Turkey and may have been stolen from abroad. The detained suspects were sent to the courthouse after security procedures, while the investigation is ongoing and there may be new detentions, it said.
